There are many different resources available to you as a student to support you with your writing. Graduate students, please expect and budget for hiring an editor while in-program, especially if you are a student for whom English is a second language.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Assistance
- Access writing services available to students at the UW Writing Centers.
- Develop a peer group to review your writing. Finding a few friends with whom you can share your writing (and whose writing you are willing to review and critique) is a great way to not only improve your writing but also to form strong collegial relationships!
- Explore other excellent writing guides: Purdue Online Writing Lab and University of Richmond Writer's Web
- If you would like assistance formatting your dissertation or thesis, see the Companion to the UW Graduate School Style and Policy Manual for Theses and Dissertations on the CSSCR handout page or contact Dixielynn Gleason (email@example.com).
