CPR Training

All School of Nursing students are required to have a current CPR card throughout their nursing program of study.  If you do not yet have CPR card, plan to take a CPR class, which at a minimum must include both adult and infant/child resuscitation.

Your CPR training should include a practical/skills evaluation portion.  Online CPR training is not accepted.  We recommend that you take the American Heart Association course specially intended for health care providers, as some clinical sites require this course.

Proof of CPR training is required at orientation when you begin your program of study.  The expiration date of your training should be noted on the card. If no date is shown, it is considered to have an annual renewal.  You are responsible for maintaining your CPR training throughout your enrollment at the SoN; if your initial training expires during the course of your enrollment, you must present proof to Academic Services that you have renewed your CPR training.
