Learn moreThe number of credits vary depending on the student's background, but all PMH students must be enrolled in the PMHNP specialty through either the Master of Nursing (MN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Graduate Certificate (GCPAPN) programs.
The PMH sub-specialty courses must be completed in addition to the PMHNP MN, DNP or GCPAPN coursework.

Both UW School of Nursing PMHNP graduates and NP-prepared applicants in another field should apply to the PMH specialty under the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate program.
Graduates of the UW School of Nursing PMHNP specialty must complete the PMH Sub-Specialty Courses only. Course work taken as a previous PMHNP student count towards the remainder of the PMHNP Certificate Program credits.
Post-Master's students with NP preparation in another field must complete:
