Role of the Supervisory Committee

The Supervisory Committee:

  1. Advises and mentors you through the doctoral program using various mentoring resources.
  2. Works together with you to discuss and plan choices in course work and capstone project work, and to explore specific areas of study that support your individual educational goals.
  3. Submits, through the chair, quarterly progress notes to your student file.
  4. Evaluates the proposed program of study using a set of established guidelines.
  5. Formally approves your program of study.
  6. Guides capstone project; recommends the capstone project for approval and for the doctoral degree.
  7. Conducts the final examination.

The supervisory committee MUST meet as a group to:

  • conduct the final examination

The supervisory committee MAY meet to:

  • approve the program of study
