ABSN Proctored Essay: Important Information

Thank you to all of our 2014 Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) applicants!  We appreciate all of the time and effort you took in preparing and submitting your application to us.

Seattle Area Applicants

All ABSN applicants are required to write the proctored essay onTuesday, October 22, 2013. There are no make-up sessions for the proctored essay.

If you live in the Seattle/Greater Puget Sound area, you should come to the Seattle campus to write the essay in person from 6:00 - 7:00pm. The essay will take place in the T-Wing of the Health Sciences Building in room A420 (Hogness Auditorium), and you should bring a photo ID with you. We will provide pens and paper. You can find directions for how to get to the UW Seattle campus and the Health Sciences Building, as well as parking information, here:

Evening parking rates are in effect as of 5pm. Tell the gatehouse attendant that you wish to park close to the Health Sciences Building and they will give you a pass for the closest lot to our building. You should arrive no later than 5:30pm.

Out-of-Area Applicants

Out-of-state applicants must have already designated their proctor for the essay on their application form.  Your proctor should have received an email from the UW School of Nursing verifying their email address is valid.  If your proctor has NOT received an email at this point, they should contact the office of Academic Services immediately at (206) 543-8736.

Your proctor will receive the essay questions as well an instructions for submitting the essay to us on Monday, October 21st.  Completed essays must be returned to the School of Nursing no later than noon Pacific Standard Time on Wednesday, October 23.
