ANP: Frequently Asked Questions

What's new about the ANP program?

The focus of the ANP program is shifting towards gerontology, providing students with a broader preparation for clinical practice as a primary care provider. This is based on the knowledge that an increasingly larger percentage of the individuals receiving health care will be older adults, with the largest increase in those over 80. This transition is also in alignment with the national nursing accreditation and certification organizations model for future advanced practice nursing.

Will preparation as an AGNP be available as a post-master's certificate?

Yes, but only for a student who has completed or is enrolled in a DNP or PhD degree program. Visit the ANP Certificate Program page for more information.

What financial aid/scholarships are available for students?

Please visit the School’s financial aid web pages for a comprehensive list of funding sources for UW School of Nursing students.
